Therapeutic Journey

Welcome to Sojourners Path Counseling!
As a systemic therapist, I view the therapeutic process as a meaningful sojourn—an intentional pause along life’s path to reflect, heal, and grow. My practice is dedicated to supporting individuals, couples, and families as they navigate the complexities of relationships and personal development.
In a compassionate and nonjudgmental space, I help clients explore relational patterns, strengthen communication, and reconnect with their values and goals.
Services

Individual Therapy
Individual psychotherapy offers a collaborative and healing relationship where clients can gain insight, develop coping skills, and make meaningful changes in their lives.
Family Therapy
Family therapy is a form of counseling that involves multiple family members working together to improve communication, resolve conflicts, and strengthen relationships
Couples Counseling
In couples counseling, romantic partners work together in a supportive setting to better understand each other’s needs, patterns of interaction, and areas of disconnect.
Adolescent Counseling
In adolescent counseling, the goal is to help teens build resilience, gain insight, and develop the emotional tools they need to thrive during adolescence and beyond.
Approach
Therapeutic Focus
Whether you're facing marital conflict, parenting challenges, or personal transitions, I will walk alongside you as a guide, helping to illuminate your path forward with clarity and purpose.
Drawing from evidence-based, systemic approaches, I tailor each session to support your unique journey toward deeper connection and lasting change.
I incorporate mindfulness-based practices alongside research-based theoretical frameworks to guide the therapeutic process. With training in systemic theories, I primarily use Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), the Gottman Method, and Collaborative Therapy within my practice.

About
Hello, my name is Brad Waters.
I am a Marriage and Family Therapy Intern based in Nagano, Japan. I have called the outdoor play land of the Northern Alps home for over 15 years. I have a background in experiential education working with youth of all ages and families exploring the great outdoors together. On most days, you will find me enjoying nature - whether that's going for a hike, mountain biking, snowboarding, or gardening.
I believe that we are wholistic beings; therefore, I emphasize an integration of your whole self both inside and outside of the therapy room. I use the bio-psycho-social-spiritual model within my practice to help you incorporate ALL aspects of yourself within the therapeutic journey. I am looking forward to meeting you and walking alongside you on your path of discovery.
